I was approached by a family friend to make a piece for her Sailor husband's birthday. She had a great idea, and then let me have complete artistic freedom with the piece. The naval ship above water is the USS Curts, his ship, and the reflection is a traditional naval frigate. The mountain range is the local mountains in our area, the Olympics, an a mermaid version of the wife is waiting for her sailor.
